I'm here for you, whatever your breastfeeding problem- in the privacy ad comfort of your very own home. Proper care and attention takes time, my approach is uniquely individualized to allow me to give my families the right amount of time together so we can follow the natural flow of you and your baby's rhythm. My goal as a Registered Nurse and Board Certified Lactation Consultant is to provide personalized, clear and understandable evidence-based information with compassion, balancing physical and emotional considerations for each new family I am honored to work with.

My practice is primarily focused on providing private home visits near Folsom, California and surrounding areas El Dorado and Sacramento County.

Initial First- time Visit  (1.5-2 Hours) includes:

  • Review of maternal and infant health history, birth and breastfeeding experience to date

  • Physical assessment including mother’s breasts and baby’s oral and structural anatomy

  • Weight check for baby, including pre- and post-feeding weights

  • Observation, assessment and hands-on assistance while feeding

  • A personalized and detailed breastfeeding care plan

  • A report to the mother’s physician and/or baby’s pediatrician, in some cases

  • Two weeks of follow-up care via text, email and/or phone

Follow-up Visits  (45 min – 1 hour) may be necessary/desired. These include:

  • Assessment of progress

  • Weight check for baby, including pre- and post-feeding weights

  • Re-evaluation and updating of care plan

Virtual Consult  (30+ min conversation phone or video chat) for families that don’t need face-to-face care :

  • All virtual consults can be conducted either over the phone or via a HIPAA compliant video chat program.

  • Prenatal concerns or basic lactation education.  Includes a complete health history and discussion of how your health or anatomical concerns may affect your milk supply or baby’s ability to nurse well.  Perfect for first timers AND experienced parents who want a different experience the second time around.

  • Pump Planning/Back to Work Consult Take (some of) the stress out of going back to work!   We will discuss how and when to start pumping, how much milk you need in your freezer stash, and how much milk to send with baby every day.  This consult includes a customized pumping plan that takes your work, childcare schedules and daycare requests for handling breastmilk into account.

  • Questions about weaning? Whether you’re looking to night wean, day wean or fully wean… or some other combination.... we can have a guilt-free discussion on how best to wean your baby with love and care. You will receive a customized weaning plan that takes your unique family into account to make the process as smooth and healthy as possible through your weaning season.

FEES & LOGISTICS

Fees:

When searching for a lactation consultant, the important thing for a new mom to focus on is a personal connection with the person you are inviting in during such an intimate time. Payment is due at the time of the visit and I accept cash, checks, PayPal, Venmo and Square Cash. I can take credit cards at home visits. Please note that a $25 deposit is applied to the fee for scheduling the visit and nonrefundable if you cancel within 24 hours of the visit time. Otherwise you are not charged for keeping your scheduled appointment.

If you’d like to discuss my consult fees, please contact me at 916-778-3171 or Gina@TakesTwo-IBCLC.com. I welcome the opportunity to chat and share more about my services with you.

Packages:

All initial and follow-up home visits include 2 weeks of unlimited phone/e-mail/text.  If you would like to extend this support after your two weeks are up, additional follow-up is available for $25/week.  Why Google when you can ask a professional who really knows you and your baby? Multiple-visit packages are available, as well as private, in-home prenatal breastfeeding classes and telephone consultations (for certain situations). Please contact me to discuss your needs.

Insurance:

Most, if not all, CA insurance companies cover lactation services. You already pay for your health insurance premiums and deserve to utilize the care they

offer to support breastfeeding and the lifelong health benefits you gift unto your child.  After your appointment, I can provide appropriate documentation

to submit along with your own claim form to your insurance company to seek reimbursement. While I cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed, many

of my clients receive partial or full reimbursement. Please check with your health insurance provider for their policy.

All of my services are HSA/FSA eligible expenses.
